ASHA CORNELIA CLUER (SHE/HER)
Actor | Musician | Writer | Maker | Educator
I am a multi-disciplinary artist and educator from Boorloo (Perth). I trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in the UK (MA Acting) where I was based for a decade working predominantly as an actor-musician for West End, UK No.1 touring and independent theatre shows.
As an actor-musician, I have worked for award-winning companies and venues such as the Royal Court, Rose Theatre Bankside, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, the Bristol Old Vic Theatre, Certain Dark Things, and Reading Rep Theatre. I work as musical director, often times as an onstage MD working with multi-instrumentalists and new composition.
I have a BA (Political Science & International Relations) from the University of Western Australia and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile which I often put to use in the creation of theatre, music, film, writing and movement. I lead and collaborate on projects which are often bilingual, have a global focus, and advocate for cross cultural exchange.
I create work in a variety of contexts including programs that facilitate curriculum based arts education, immersive shows that brighten the corporate space, and pieces that exist just for arts' sake!
I am now living on Whadjuk boodja working as an actor, artist and educator for companies such as the Blue Room Theatre, Fremantle Theatre Company and WA Youth Theatre Company.
The goal? Make great art for Western Australia.
